How to Make a Matcha Sakura Cherry Blossom Latte

The word ‘Sakura’ is derived from the Japanese word ‘saku’ which means to bloom, or alternatively smile/laugh, and ‘ki’ which means tree. Sakura, which is known as the national flower of Japan, symbolizes a period of renewal and the transience of life. To try out this spring special treat you just need to follow these simple steps below:
Ingredients:
1/3 cup warm water
2 tablespoons honey/agave syrup/ white sugar
2 teaspoons of Matcha Moments Premium Grade Matcha (or Matcha Moments Ceremonial Matcha)
¼ teaspoon Sakura leaf powder
1 ½ cups coconut milk (or milk of your choice like almond milk, soy milk, or dairy milk)
For serving
Ice cubes
Coconut flakes
Edible flowers
Directions:
- Heat the water and add sugar into it. Simmer until sugar is dissolved.
- Remove from heat and add the matcha tea powder and Sakura powder into the water and whisk until smooth.
- Take two glasses and fill them with ice cubes. Divide the Matcha Sakura syrup into two halves and pour into the glasses.
- Whisk milk for a frothier texture and then pour it into the glasses.
- Sprinkle the glasses with some matcha powder or coconut flakes before serving.
